Cleaning the Bay

While HRSD employees spend their work hours “Cleaning wastewater every day for a better Bay,” they also volunteer for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation’s annual Clean the Bay Day.  Two teams of employees, their friends and families were among the more than 6,500 volunteers that descended June 4, 2011, on shorelines and stream banks to pick up and remove harmful debris, litter and trash.  In all, approximately 200,000 pounds of debris were removed from more than 500 miles of shoreline in just three hours.  The 24th Annual Clean the Bay Day has been scheduled for Saturday, June 2nd, 2012.  Save the date so you can join HRSD in cleaning the Bay!
