Why are we doing this project?

  • To improve reliability and provide for future capacity, the pump stations will be demolished and rebuilt on adjacent lots. The pipelines between these two pump stations will be rehabilitated and, in certain cases, replaced.
  • The aging sanitary sewer pipelines connecting these pump stations to the wastewater treatment plant are also in need of upgrades and/or replacement.

Park Avenue Sanitation Sewer Pipeline Construction: How will I be impacted?

Pipeline construction on Park Avenue may begin as early as June 17th and be completed by Labor Day as to not impact the school.

Park Avenue will be restricted to one-lane during pipeline construction. Access to Porter Street from Park Avenue will be open, but vehicles will not be allowed to park on Park Avenue.

During construction you may experience:

  • Staging of construction materials on or near the construction site
  • Typical construction noises such as engines, backup alarms, material deliveries, diesel generators, and air compressors

Temporary road closures are not expected, but if they do need to occur, notice will be given to residents at least
48 hours in advance of a planned closure.
