West Point and Urbanna Sewer Repairs

Body

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility is planning a project in your neighborhood to replace and/or rehabilitate existing pipe in several locations in West Point, Virginia and Urbanna, Virginia. This project will improve the sewer system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.

Project Overview

This project will replace, repair, and/or rehabilitate multiple locations where pipe defects were found. The defects identified ranged from groundwater leaking into the manholes to broken sections of pipe. This project will complete repair and rehabilitation work at the following locations: Camilla Drive, King William Avenue, Azalea Crescent, two areas between Ogden Street and Thompson Avenue, Thompson Avenue, two areas off of Cypress Avenue, one area near Euclid Drive, 2nd Street, and 5th Street, all located in West Point. There is one work area on Virginia Street in Urbanna. The contractor will maintain a clean job site and minimize traffic disruption.

An additional construction notice will be distributed to those in the area approximately one week before work occurs at each section. Those notices will have more specific information for that specific area.
