Larchmont Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements Program

Body

A Message To Our Neighbors

Over the next several weeks, GET Solutions, A Terracon Company, is authorized to perform work in your area on behalf of HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, and the City of Norfolk. This work is expected to continue through late December and is part of the Larchmont Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements Program, a strategic program to replace, upgrade and relocate sanitary sewer pump stations and their connecting pipelines in the Larchmont-Edgewater community.

Throughout the project area, GET Solutions will drill holes in the soil and pavement to help us plan for new pipelines and pump stations in your neighborhood. None of their work will disrupt wastewater service to your property. Each hole will be filled and the surface restored before the contractor moves on to the next location. They will complete their work within public easements, right-of-ways, or on property adjacent to your property (such as properties owned by HRSD and the City of Norfolk). If work does need to occur on your property within a utility easement, we will reach out to you directly to schedule a date and time for access.

The map below shows the general area in which the geotechnical work will be completed. The colored boxes indicate which streets will be affected, but the timing of the work will vary based on contractor progress, weather, and other variables. There will be short term lane closures at various times within the project area that will not last more than 6 hours at a time. Flaggers will direct traffic around these temporary lane closures. Work will occur on weekdays between 9 am and 4 pm. We estimate that the geotechnical work will be completed by December 31 .
