South Norfolk Area Gravity Sewer Improvements Project
--Utility Work to Occur--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to replace sewer pipe and manholes along Waltham Street. Broken pipe segments were found during a CCTV inspection of the sewer pipe, and repairs must be made. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Construction Update
- Sewer pipe and manhole replacement work began on September 15th on Ford Drive between Springfield Avenue and Indian River Road.
- This work will take place during the daytime and within the right-of-way. Nighttime work is not anticipated, but if it needs to occur, the contractor will notify you in advance.
- Be aware, traffic patterns will shift and will include lane closures. Access to homes/businesses will be available.
- This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
- This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in approximately 2 months. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change or be extended.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, follow all traffic signs and signals.
