South Norfolk Sewer Pipe & Manhole Improvements Project
--Utility Work to Occur--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to replace sewer pipe and manholes in South Main Street and south of Bainbridge Boulevard. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Construction Update
- Beginning as early as October 16th, sewer pipe and manhole replacement work will occur in the vicinity of your home/business on S. Main Street.
- Be aware, traffic patterns will shift and will include road closures.
- This closure will prevent southbound travel on South Main Street from Bainbridge Boulevard. It will also prevent northbound travel on South Main Street north of I-464 exit 5. (See map on the back of this notice for the detour route).
- While work will take place from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, the road closure will be in place 24 hours a day until this portion of work is complete.
- This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
- This portion of work is expected to be completed in 3-4 weeks. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change or be extended.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
