West Point Sanitary Sewer Improvements
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is planning a project in your neighborhood to rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer pipelines and public sewer service connections that are nearing the end of their useful life. This rehabilitation project will increase the systems lifespan while decreasing inflow and infiltration and decreasing risk of failures. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.
Project Overview
HRSD is currently undertaking a project to improve the sanitary sewer system in West Point, Virginia. The project includes repairs, rehabilitation, and potential replacement of the selected sewer pipes and manholes. New property line cleanouts will also be installed along the right-of-way, and one new manhole structure will be constructed. All work will take place within the existing right-of-way, and all affected areas will be restored upon completion. The Cure in Place Pipe (CIPP) system is anticipated to be used for sewer pipe rehabilitation, for more information please see the fact sheet (included with this letter). The contractor will maintain a clean job site and minimize traffic disruption.
For more information regarding the CIPP method, please see the fact sheet (included with this letter.)
