Hollywood Area Sewer Pipeline & Pump Station Replacement Project

Body

--E. Washington Street Pump Station Site Work to Begin--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to install a sanitary sewer pipeline and pump station on E. Washington Street. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Construction Update:

  • In early June, the contractor will begin to install erosion and sedimentation controls and safety fencing on the proposed pump station site at 2245 East Washington Street.
  • Beginning around June 12th, the contractor will use a crane to drive sheet piles into the ground to create temporary retaining walls that hold back soil to allow for deeper excavation that is necessary for the pump station construction. This may result in some noise and vibration during normal business hours.
    • Vibration monitors will be placed onsite and near construction areas. Alerts are provided to the contractor if vibrations reach a particular level; work will pause if these vibrations exceed federally established levels that may cause damage to structures.
  • East Washington Street will maintain two lanes of traffic. However, please remain alert for construction vehicles entering and exiting the site.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
  • This sheet piling portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in 3 to 4 weeks. The pump station construction at this site is expected to be completed by early 2028. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change or be extended.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
