Wilroy Pressure Reducing Station and Offline Storage Facility

Body

--Utility Work to Begin--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking the construction of the Wilroy Pressure Reducing Station & Offline Storage Facility. The installation of sheet piles will be ongoing intermittently during the project. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday–Friday.

Construction Update

  • Beginning as early as August 21, 2026, the construction of the new pressure reducing station and storage tank will include the installation of auger cast piles at the project site at 1941 Wilroy Road.
  • Auger cast piles are used as deep foundation support for the offline storage tank’s permanent structure.
  • Piles are constructed by rotating augers into the soil to a designed depth. Concrete or grout is pumped through as the auger is slowly removed. The reinforcement cage is placed through the freshly placed concrete; they create temporary retaining walls that hold back soil to allow for deeper excavation that is necessary for the pump station construction.
  • Key advantage of auger cast piles are that noise level and vibrations are lower than typical hammering style pile driving.
  • The concrete will be transported to the site using concrete trucks. Their use of Wilroy Road will be limited and should not significantly impact traffic flow.
  • This portion of work is anticipated to be completed in 4-6 weeks. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
  • Below are pictures of the auger caste piling installation process.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
