Temporary Lane Closures, Detour Scheduled for Orcutt Avenue Between Paul Street and 72nd Street for Sanitary Sewer Repair

Newport News – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform sanitary sewer work that will require the temporary closure of Orcutt Avenue between Paul Street and 72nd Street. Lane closures are scheduled to begin Wednesday, July 22, 2020 and remain in place through the end of August.

During the repair work, motorists traveling on Orcutt Avenue will follow a signed detour around the affected section. For motorists travelling south on Orcutt Avenue, the detour will be 72nd Street to Roanoke Avenue to James Drive to Orcutt Avenue. For motorists travelling north on Orcutt Avenue, the signed detour will be Paul Street to Wickham Avenue to 74th Street to Orcutt Avenue as indicated on the map below.
