Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Construction Update
In Spring 2023, HRSD will continue its sanitary sewer replacement project with work beginning on Park Avenue between Bainbridge Boulevard and Rodgers Street. Construction will include the excavation of the road and sidewalk to replace the existing sanitary sewer pipes. After construction, roadways will be restored to their pre-construction structure and materials.

CHESAPEAKE - HRSD was notified Friday evening that a tug boat in the vicinity of the Great Bridge Lock had compromised an HRSD 20-inch cast iron force main with its anchor. HRSD operations crews immediately located and isolated the section of pipe under the canal and successfully diverted wastewater flows to stop the leak.

--Utility Work Continues--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to install a sanitary sewer main pipeline on Washington Avenue between 35th Street and 37th Street. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Friday with occasional weekend and night work as required.

Traffic Advisory - March 9, 2023
CHESAPEAKE – HRSD crews will be performing utility repair work on Great Bridge Boulevard near the intersection of Battlefield Boulevard beginning Friday, March 10, at 9:00 p.m. and lasting up to 24 hours. This work will require a reduction in travel lanes to safely perform the required repairs, so motorists may experience travel delays in the area during work hours.

This work should take place primarily between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.
