HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in coordination with Middlesex County, is planning a project in your neighborhood to construct a 1.8-mile sewer pipeline that will transfer wastewater from the Cooks Corner area in Middlesex County to the existing Central Middlesex Treatment Plant (CMTP). This project will also improve the sewer system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.
The project is located in the neighborhood surrounding Cooks Corner area in Middlesex County to the existing Central Middlesex Treatment Plant. The project consists of the installation of a sewer force main pipe from a proposed HRSD gravity sewer collection system and pump station at Cooks Corner to the existing Central Middlesex Treatment Plant in Saluda, Virginia. The pipeline corridor is located along General Puller Highway, primarily in the median and a segment in paved highway, which belongs in the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) right‐of way. The contractor will maintain a clean job site and minimize traffic disruption.
