HRSD Computer Systems Struck by Ransomware Attack

VIRGINIA BEACHHRSD learned late Tuesday evening that some of its systems suffered a ransomware attack. Response efforts were immediately initiated to contain the attack, including the shut-down of some business information systems. These include HRSD business email accounts, HRSD Customer Call Center, Customer Self-Service, iSupplier and iRecruitment web functionality.

All HRSD wastewater treatment services and processes remain fully operational and HRSD continues to meet all regulatory requirements. HRSD has engaged the assistance of cybersecurity experts who are working around the clock to restore all HRSD business operation systems.

In-person bill payment is not currently available for HRSD payments. Bill payments may be made by phone by calling 844-257-6063 or online here. There will be no late fees or interest on payments delayed during this incident.

Our investigation into the exact cause of the incident, as well as our restoration work, is ongoing and we will provide additional relevant information as it becomes available.
