Traffic Advisory - July 18, 2025

 

SUFFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD will begin overnight work to install a light pole along I-664 South. This work will require closure of the southbound right lane and right shoulder of I-664 just north of the Armstead Road Overpass to near Exit 8A (College Drive). Exit 8A will remain open. The closure will take place between 8:00 p.m. – 5:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 17, and Friday, July 18. For more information, please refer to the map below.

SUFFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD will begin work to remove a light pole along I-664 South. This work will require closure of the southbound right lane and right shoulder of I-664 beginning before the Armstead Road Overpass and continuing to near Exit 8A (College Drive). Exit 8A will remain open. The closure will be set up on Tuesday, July 8 at 8:00 p.m. and is expected to remain in place until Friday, July 11. For more information, please refer to the map below.

NEWPORT NEWS – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be testing and installing sewer pipe for the new Lucas Creek Pump Station. This work will require the closure of Old Lucas Creek Road between Debbie Lane and Lucas Creek Road and a closure of the right northbound lane of Lucas Creek Road. All closures will occur on weekdays only from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and will begin as early as Monday, July 7, and last through the end of July. For the detour route, refer to the map below.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will resume work to replace a sanitary sewer pipeline located along Hancock Drive and Hamilton Drive. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

This work will require closure of Old Lucas Creek Road from Debbie Lane to Lucas Creek Road and the right northbound lane of Lucas Creek Road Monday- Saturday from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. beginning Wednesday, June 18th through Wednesday, July 2nd. The closure will not be in place on Thursday, June 19, in observance of the Juneteenth holiday.
