Even though the Earth is made of about 71% of water, we all know there is no water to waste! This is why it is so important for students to learn more about wastewater.
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is planning a project in your neighborhood to install a pipeline that will carry flow from the Boat Harbor Pump Station to the Nansemond Treatment Plant. This project is part of the Sustainable Water Initiative for Tomorrow (SWIFT) program. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can be found here.
Project Overview
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in coordination with the City of Norfolk, has begun a project in your neighborhood to rehabilitate existing HRSD sanitary sewer pipelines that are nearing the end of their useful life. This rehabilitation project will ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) can be found here.

--Riverview Farm Park Trails--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will be installing pipes to support the SWIFT facility underneath a portion of the trail in Riverview Farm Park (please refer to the map on the back of this notice). This work is scheduled to take place Monday-Friday from 7:00 am to 5:00 pm.
--Park Avenue Pump Station Update--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is planning a maintenance project in your neighborhood to replace a corrosion protection system on the existing HRSD sanitary sewer pipeline to prevent corrosion-related failures.
