This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday. The road closure/detour will be in place 24 hours/day.

  • Passenger vehicles will follow a signed detour route for thru traffic for Bainbridge Boulevard using S. Military Highway, Campostella Road, Great Bridge Boulevard, Lincoln Street, and Outlaw Street as indicated on the map below.

Traffic Advisory - February 28, 2025

NORFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be performing sanitary sewer pipeline improvements at the intersection of Newtown Road and Elam Avenue that requires lane and intersection closures. During this work, traffic will follow a signed detour using Coliss Avenue and Fair Meadows Road as indicated on the map below. The detour is scheduled to begin as early as March 3 and is expected to remain in place for 2 to 3 weeks.

NEWPORT NEWS – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are installing utilities at the Lucas Creek pump station as part of the Lucas Creek Pump Station Replacement. During this work, Old Lucas Creek Road will remain closed to through traffic. Residents and emergency vehicles will continue to have access to Old Lucas Creek Road with flaggers onsite to direct traffic. The detour is scheduled to begin as early as February 28, and expected to remain in place until Tuesday, March 4.
