SUFFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD will begin overnight work to install a light pole along I-664 South. This work will require closure of the southbound right lane and right shoulder of I-664 beginning before the Armstead Road Overpass and continuing to near Exit 8A (College Drive). Exit 8A will remain open. The closure will be set up on Thursday, August 14, at 8:00 p.m. and is expected to remain in place until Friday, August 15 at 5:00 a.m. For more information, please refer to the map below.

--James City County--

Smoke testing of the sanitary sewer system will take place within the Williamsburg Crossing, Winston Terrace, Kingswood, and Birchwood Park neighborhoods in James City County in August.

--Utility Work to Occur--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to inspect and perform maintenance on the sanitary sewer piping along Huxley Place between Winterhaven Drive and Alpine Street. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday-Friday.

NEWPORT NEWS – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will continue to install and test sewer pipe for the new Lucas Creek Pump Station. This work will require the closure of Old Lucas Creek Road between Debbie Lane and Lucas Creek Road and a closure of the right northbound lane of Lucas Creek Road. All closures will occur on weekdays only from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. and will continue until the end of September. For the detour route, refer to the map below.

--Construction Update--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility has installed a temporary sound barrier to help reduce the noise being created at the James River Treatment Plant.

--Tree Pruning to Occur--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in coordination with the City of Norfolk, will begin tree pruning work along Versailles Avenue as part of the ongoing Luxembourg and Ashland Circle Pump Station Replacements. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., Monday–Friday.
