--Ferebee Pump Station Construction Update--

SUFFOLK – HRSD signed a three-party Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Korean Water Resources Corporation (K-Water) and Wintec Glovis this week, formally partnering to pilot their superheated steam-based granular activated carbon reactivation technology at the SWIFT Research Center, becoming the first organization in the United States to pilot test the eco-friendly process.
CHESAPEAKE – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are performing emergency sanitary sewer repairs requiring lane closures at the intersection of Cedar Road and Country Club Boulevard.
During this work, the oustide eastbound through lane on Cedar Road and the right turn lane to southbound Country Club Boulevard will be closed to safely perform the repairs.
These lane closures are expected to remain in place through Tuesday, December 30, while repairs are completed.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to rehabilitate a sanitary sewer manhole at the intersection of Newtown Road and Elam Avenue as part of the Newtown Road Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
NORFOLK – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be performing sanitary sewer manhole rehabilitation that requires lane and intersection closures at the intersection of Newtown Road and Elam Avenue. During this work, traffic will follow a signed detour using Coliss Avenue and Fair Meadows Road as indicated on the map below. The detour is scheduled to begin as early as December 29 and is expected to remain in place for two to three days.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to replace and rehabilitate pipe and manholes along Waltham Street. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
CHESAPEAKE – Motorists are advised that HRSD will be performing a sanitary sewer repair on southbound Bainbridge Boulevard at the Great Bridge Boulevard intersection. During this work, lane closures will be in place that will affect the flow of traffic as indicated on the map below. The work is scheduled to begin as early as 4:00 p.m. on December 12 and will potentially be in place through the weekend.
--Milling and Paving Work to begin--
Due to inclement weather, the milling and paving work along sections of HQ Way, the Yoder Plaza Shopping Center parking lot access road, Hancock Drive, and Hamilton Drive has been delayed. The work will be rescheduled when weather conditions improve.

WILLIAMSBURG – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are scheduled to restore the area near the right westbound lane of Humelsine Parkway (Route 199) near College Creek, beginning December 4, which will require intermittent closures of the right westbound shoulder. The shoulder closures will be intermittent Monday-Friday during the hours of 9 a.m.-3p.m. This work is anticipated to be completed in 3-5 days.
