WILLIAMSBURG – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will continue work to restore the area near the right westbound lane of Humelsine Parkway (Route 199) near College Creek, which will require intermittent closures of the right westbound lane. The intermittent lane closures will take place Monday-Saturday during the hours of 9 a.m.-3 p.m. until Summer 2025.

NEWPORT NEWS – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be installing sewer pipe for the new Lucas Creek Pump Station. This work will require a full closure of Old Lucas Creek Road between Debbie Lane and Lucas Creek Road from 8:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 27. The road will be open over the holiday weekend. Motorists will need to follow the marked detour using Lucas Creek Road and Denbigh Boulevard as indicated on the map below.

Notice to Neighbors - May 16, 2025

 

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is working to rehabilitate a sanitary sewer pipeline along Newtown Road as part of the Newtown Road Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation project. In order to rehabilitate that pipe, wastewater flow in the pipe needs to be diverted. To help reduce flow in the lines, vactor trucks will be used to pump wastewater from one location and haul it to another location. This pump and haul work is expected to occur primarily between the hours of 7pm - 5am.
