Virginia Beach Boulevard Sewer Pipeline Replacement

Body

--Utility Work to Begin in Parker Lane in mid-December--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, continues work in your area. The Virginia Beach Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Improvement project will replace the existing 24-inch sewer pipeline with a larger 42-inch pipeline to reliably move increased sewer flow along Virginia Beach Boulevard from North Lynnhaven Road to Great Neck Road. The work in Parker Lane should take place primarily between the hours of 8 p.m. and 5 a.m., Monday through Friday.

Construction Update:

  • The tunneling operation under London Bridge Creek from the Vulcan material storage yard off Parker Lane to the Southern Boulevard right-of-way has been completed.
  • In mid-December, construction of the 42-inch pipeline in Parker Lane will begin and should last approximately 4 to 6 weeks.
  • During nighttime working hours, Parker Lane will be closed to traffic; however, it will be re-opened in the morning for daytime use during regular Lowe’s store hours.
  • From Parker Lane, the pipeline will cut through the northernmost edge of the Lowe’s parking lot. That work is scheduled to begin in early 2021 and will be limited to January 1 through March 31 st to avoid the peak home improvement season.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.

Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.  For updates, please visit the project’s website page, www.hrsd.com/virginia-beach-blvd-pipeline-and-pinetree-ps

Thank you for your support of this effort to help achieve HRSD's vision:

Future generations will inherit clean waterways and be able to keep them clean.
