Pump Station Manhole Rehabilitation Project

Body

-- Utility Work to Begin --

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to rehabilitate and perform maintenance of the internal system and connecting manholes of our pump station, installed in 1947 and located at 1548 Buckingham Avenue. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work can be weather and situation dependent and should not affect your water or sewer services.

The contractor will begin maintenance work at the pump station near your home to make necessary repairs and upgrades to the system. Most of the work will be confined to within HRSD's property. However, a small portion of the sewer pipelines connecting adjacent to the station will be rehabilitated temporarily causing one shared lane of traffic and utilizing flagging operations to help motorist navigate around construction. A sewer bypass system will be put in place to ensure continued service. This work is expected to be completed within 1-2 weeks.

In future months, HRSD will begin a separate beautification project at this same pump station in an effort to enhance the outdated aesthetics of the station and help it better blend into the neighborhood.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, work crews and equipment (with back-up safety alarms) entering and exiting the site associated with this work. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.

Thank you for your support of this effort to help achieve HRSD's vision:

Future generations will inherit clean waterways and are able to keep them clean.
