Pump Station Wet Well Rehabilitation Projects

Body

-- Work To Begin --

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to rehabilitate and perform maintenance of the internal systems of multiple pump stations within the cities of Norfolk and Chesapeake. One of these sites is the North Shore Road Pump Station, located at 1512 North Shore Road in the City of Norfolk. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. This work can be weather and situation dependent and should not affect your water or sewer services.

The contractor will begin maintenance work at the pump station near your home to make necessary repairs and upgrades to the system. Most of the construction work will be confined to within HRSD's property. However, a portion of the sewer pipelines and a manhole connecting to the station will be replaced in the right-of-way causing North Shore Road, between Shirland Road and Courtland Place, to be closed. This closure is anticipated to take one month to complete.

This work is expected to be completed in late summer/early fall of 2018.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, work crews and equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with this work. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.

Thank you for your support of this effort to help achieve HRSD’s vision:

Future generations will inherit clean waterways and be able to keep them clean.
