Tabb Pressure Reducing Station & Offline Storage Facility

Body

- Concrete & Sheet Pile Operations –

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking the construction of the Tabb Pressure Reducing Station & Offline Storage Facility. The installation of concrete & sheet piles will be ongoing intermittently during the project. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 am to 4 pm (Monday-Friday).

Pipe Installation Operations:

  • Beginning as early as March 25, 2025, the construction of the new pressure reducing station and storage tank will begin in the vicinity of your home/business.
  • Concrete piles are used in this part of construction to support the permanent structures.
  • These concrete piles are placed into the earth using a hammer, which at times may seem loud due to the hammer hitting the top of the concrete pile during installation.
  • Installation of concrete piles is a slow process taking several weeks to ensure that the piles are correctly installed and to maintain vibration limits to keep from damaging existing adjacent structures. The contractor is monitoring vibration on site near installations to stay within project vibration limits.
  • The noise level will vary based on type of equipment used, length of piles, and the soil conditions.
  • The concrete piles will be transported to the site using tractor-trailers. Their use of Victory Blvd. will be limited and should not significantly impact traffic flow. We anticipate less than 6 truckloads each day during the pile installation phase of the project.
  • This section of work is anticipated to be completed in 5-6 months.  Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.
  • Below are pictures of the concrete piling installation process.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
