James River Treatment Plant SWIFT Improvements

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin milling and paving at the City of Newport News Riverview Gymnastics Center Access Road and portions of the Parking Lot (please refer to the map on the back of this notice). To accomplish this task this work is scheduled to occur at night. This night work is scheduled to occur from 3:00 pm to 2:00 am.
Milling and Paving Operations:
- Beginning as early as October 8th, an under-road pipe crossing installation will take place on Riverview Parkway.
- This work will take place during the afternoon hours into the early morning (3:00 pm to 2:00 am) on Riverview Parkway south of Riverview Gymnastics Center Entrance.
- Riverview Parkway traffic will be reduced to one lane in this area.
- This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
- This work should take approximately 2-3 days. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
