Cedar Lane and Peake Lane Sewer Improvements Project

Body

--Utility Work to Occur: W. Norfolk Road and Peake Lane--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to rehabilitate a sanitary sewer pipeline along Peake Lane and a manhole at the West Norfolk Road intersection. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Construction Update

  • Beginning as early as July 13, contractors will begin setting up bypass piping along Peake Lane. This bypass piping ensures that the neighborhood sewer service is not interrupted. No traffic impacts are expected. Please see the Bypass Fact Sheet for more information.
  • Beginning as early as July 20, the installation of CIPP liners into the sewer pipelines will begin at a manhole located on West Norfolk Road at the intersection of Peake Lane. This initial phase of work at Peake Lane and West Norfolk Road will require pump and haul from nearby pump stations to be completed, and increased truck traffic will occur.
  • Be aware, traffic patterns will shift and will include a lane closure of the eastbound lane on West Norfolk Road near the Peake Lane intersection. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the work area. Access to homes/businesses will be available. The West Norfolk Road lane closure will be in place for up to 1 week.
  • Beginning around July 22, the installation of CIPP liners into the sewer pipelines will begin on Peake Lane between West Norfolk Road and Cedar Lane.
  • Be aware, traffic patterns will shift and will include lane closures and possible short-term detours. (see map below for closure and detour information). Access to homes/businesses will be available. This portion of the work on Peake Lane is anticipated to be completed in 2-3 weeks.
  • Driveway/Entrance access may be impacted for short periods of time due to construction activities. If access could be impacted, the contractor will notify you in advance to make arrangements.
  • HRSD has retained the firm Vortex Services, LLC, a subcontractor to Garney Companies, to perform this work.
  • Two days before the CIPP lining work occurs in direct vicinity of your home, you will receive a separate notice with information and guidelines.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
  • Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change or be extended.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.

Thank you for your support of this effort to help achieve HRSD's vision:

Our communities will have clean waterways and reliable water resources for generations to come.
