This project is necessary to replace a corrosion protection system that is no longer providing the level of protection needed. This project will provide infrastructure protection that will help ensure HRSD’s ability to protect public health and the environment for decades to come.
-
Disruptions to traffic will be minimized, and in most cases, a single lane of traffic will be maintained. No planned detours are anticipated but flagging will be used to help direct traffic, as needed. Construction traffic will access the locations via Greencastle Dr and the gravel access road from John Tyler Highway behind the businesses and school to the HRSD Greensprings Pump Station.
-
The contractor will ensure that access to nearby properties will be maintained throughout construction.
-
Work will typically take place intermittently, not necessarily every day, Monday through Friday from 7 AM - 7 PM. Construction should be completed by Summer 2025.
-
Your water and sewer service should not be affected by this project.
-
Where excavations are performed, asphalt, curb, gutters, and/or grass will be removed and then restored upon completion of the project.
-
The typical construction noises such as equipment engines, materials being delivered, diesel generators, air compressors, sawing, and associated activities should be anticipated.
-
The materials and equipment will be stored in the HRSD right-of-way.
-
Construction workers near Greencastle Drive will park in the right-of-way and/or the east end of the parking lot near the grass.
-
The estimated cost for the project is approximately $260,000 and is financed by the wastewater treatment fees paid by HRSD customers.
