This project is necessary to increase the reliability of the sewage collection system by rehabilitating aging sewer infrastructure.
-
Comprehensive traffic control plans will be implemented to minimize disruptions to the flow of traffic. There will be a planned road closure and detour during construction. Signage will be placed prior to these detours. Road closures and detours are expected to be in place for approximately six (6) weeks.
-
The contractor will ensure that access to residences will be maintained throughout construction. Trash and mail services will not be affected. If necessary, the contractor will move trash containers from within a work zone to an area accessible for pickup and will be responsible for returning them to each residence.
-
Work will typically take place Monday through Friday during daylight hours (7 a.m. - 5 p.m.). However, there may be times when extended hours, work at night, or weekend work may be necessary. Temporary sanitary sewer bypass pumping will be operational 24 hours per day for up to 3 weeks while the sewer assets are being repaired. This bypass pumping system will ensure that your sewer service continues without interruption.
-
Your water and sewer services should not be affected by this project.
-
No pavement within the roadway should be affected by this project. Where manhole frames and covers are replaced outside of the roadway, minimal pavement and grass will be removed and then restored upon completion of the project.
-
The typical construction noises such as equipment engines, back-up alarms, materials being delivered, diesel generators, air compressors, etc. should be anticipated.
-
The contractor will keep some supplies within the active work zone, in the public right-of way or on HRSD property.
-
Construction workers will not be allowed to park their personal vehicles on the public streets. However, work trucks will be allowed to park within the active work zone.
-
The estimated cost for the project is approximately $400,000 and is financed by the wastewater treatment fees paid by HRSD ratepayers.
