CHESAPEAKE – HRSD crews are responding to a force main failure near 3025 Gum Court in Chesapeake, just west of Interstate 664. The 36-inch line failure was reported early Saturday morning and is affecting a tributary of Drum Point Creek. This force main conveys wastewater to HRSD's Nansemond Treatment Plant in Suffolk.

Crews will be working around the clock to make the necessary repairs. The HRSD Water Quality department is also working with the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality to monitor the impacted waterway.
