Beach Road and Lemaster Avenue Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Body

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in coordination with the City of Hampton, is planning a project in your neighborhood to rehabilitate the existing sanitary sewer pipelines and public sewer service connections that are nearing the end of their useful life. This rehabilitation project will increase the system lifespan while decreasing inflow and infiltration and decreasing risk of failures. Reducing inflow and infiltration of rainwater into the sewer system should help reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events such as Nor’easters or hurricanes. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.

Project Overview
The project is located along Silver Isles Boulevard from Old Buckroe Road to Beach Road and continues north on Beach Road to Westlawn Drive. This project includes the rehabilitation of sewer pipes, rehabilitation and installation of manholes, replacement and/or rehabilitation of service laterals, replacement of property line cleanouts, along with site restoration. The Cure in Place Pipe (CIPP) system is anticipated to be used for the sewer pipe rehabilitation for more information please see the fact sheet (included with this letter). The contractor will maintain a clean job site and minimize traffic disruption.
