HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in coordination with the Town of Onancock and Town of Accomac, is planning a project in your neighborhood to replace the existing Town water meters that are nearing the end of their useful life. This replacement project will improve the system’s performance and ensure accuracy for water meter readings in the future. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here.

Project Overview

The project is located in the Town of Onancock and Town of Accomac. This project includes locating, inspecting and potentially replacing 800 water meters in the Town of Onancock and 18 water meters in the Town of Accomac. The meters will be owned and operated by the Towns of Onancock and Accomac.

Project Schedule
Inspection: Late July/Early August 2023
Restoration: Potential water meters installation for those requiring replacement: Fall 2023 – Late 2024
