Update: Sanitary Sewer Repairs on Kempsville Road in Chesapeake Complete; Site Restoration Underway

Body

CHESAPEAKE - HRSD has completed repairs to the sanitary sewer pipeline on Kempsville Road between Volvo Parkway and Hunningdon Lakes Boulevard and has returned the line to service, thus ending the pumping and hauling of flow to nearby pump stations. Roadway and site restoration is now underway.

The right and center southbound lanes remain closed in that area to allow for roadway restoration. These lanes may be reopened as early as Saturday, August 25.

Water sampling continues within the stormwater retention ponds in the Greenbrier East community and residents there should continue to avoid contact and use of the waters within those stormwater retention ponds until further notice.

You may continue to experience traffic delays and noise associated with construction, paving and site restoration. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.

Additional updates will be posted to the HRSD Newsroom. Updates will also be posted to your communities’ Nextdoor feed.
