Update: HRSD Billing Remains Suspended Due to November 17 Ransomware Attack

VIRGINIA BEACHHRSD Information Technology professionals and cybersecurity consultants continue working to safely restore business systems affected by a November 17 ransomware attack. As a result, HRSD and HRUBS billing remains suspended for all customers and account balances have not been updated. The HRSD phone and computer systems remain offline and inaccessible.

Customers will not incur late fees or interest on delayed payments as a result of this incident and customers who have made payments should disregard any automated messages they may receive related to delinquent or unpaid bills. All payments that have been made will be posted as soon as the system is restored.

Customers wishing to pay bills in person with cash may do so weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. at 1434 Air Rail Avenue, Virginia Beach, Virginia. Bills may also be paid by phone by calling 844-257-6063 or paid online here. Urgent billing inquiries may be directed to askhrsd@gmail.com.

We apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate our customers' patience as we work to restore normal business operations.

All HRSD wastewater treatment services and processes remain fully operational and HRSD continues to meet all regulatory requirements.

Investigation into the exact cause of the incident and restoration work are ongoing.
