Newport News – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be performing sanitary sewer maintenance work on Lucas Creek Road between Nottingham Trail and Eastwood Drive. During the maintenance work, motorists can follow a signed detour using Eastwood Drive, Brookfield Drive, Dellwood Drive, and Nottingham Trail as indicated on the map below. The detour is scheduled to begin September 28th and is expected to remain in place for several days.

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, continues work in your area. The Virginia Beach Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Improvement project to replace the existing 24-inch sewer pipeline with a larger 42-inch pipeline is nearing completion and final pavement restoration will be taking place soon. The work in your area should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. and 8 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Newport News – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are currently installing a new sewer pipeline on Lucas Creek Road between Sandpiper Street and St. Croix Drive. During the maintenance work, motorists can follow a signed detour using St. Croix Drive to Spinnaker Road to Sandpiper Street as indicated on the map below. The detour is scheduled to begin September 15th and is expected to remain in place for several days.

Newport News – During a September 10 event at the HRSD Boat Harbor Treatment Plant with Newport News Mayor McKinley L. Price, DDS, Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) Director David Paylor, and other local officials, HRSD General Manager Ted Henifin announced plans to close the nearly 80-year old plant located adjacent to Interstate 664 in Newport News.

Virginia Beach – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews are currently installing a new sewer pipeline on N. Lynnhaven Road near Virginia Beach Boulevard.  To safely complete this work, motorists will follow a signed detour onto Kings Grant Road to access Virginia Beach Boulevard. This work is scheduled to begin September 8, 2021 and will remain in place for approximately three weeks.
