Shell Road Pipeline Replacement Project
--Utility Work To Begin--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to replace a section of pipeline along Shell Road between Hopewell Drive and Bay Oak Drive. This section of pipeline has a history of failures and is in need of replacement to help prevent future line breaks.
What You Need to Know:
- Beginning as early as January 16, 2024, pipeline replacement work will begin in the vicinity of your home/business.
- This work will take place between 8am-5pm and predominately along Shell Road between Hopewell Drive and Bay Oak Drive.
- Shell Road and Canal Drive, between George Washington Highway (U.S. Route 17) and Military Highway (U.S. Route 13), will be closed to through traffic for 24-hours per day for the duration of this work. Through traffic will be detoured to utilize U.S. Route 17 and U.S. Route 13.
- Local traffic should be aware that traffic patterns will shift and will include partial street closures. Traffic control measures and flaggers will be in place. Access to homes/businesses will be maintained.
- This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
- This work is anticipated to be completed within 2-3 months. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change or be extended.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) entering and existing the site associated with this work. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
