Kempsville Road Closed in Both Directions at Stillwater Drive for Emergency Sanitary Sewer Repairs

Body

CHESAPEAKE – Motorists are advised that HRSD is currently performing emergency repairs requiring the closure of Kempsville Road at Stillwater Drive. Motorists traveling northeast on Kempsville Road from Battlefield Boulevard will make a U-turn at Stillwater Drive and motorists traveling southwest along Kempsville are being diverted to Green Tree Road. Motorists approaching Kempsville Road from Clearfield Avenue can only turn right onto Kempsville Road while this work continues. This closure may be required to remain in place through Saturday, October 12 as crews continue to assess damage and work to resolve the issue.

Motorists should seek alternate routes and should expect delays in the area.

HRSD’s mission is to protect public health and the waters of Hampton Roads by treating wastewater effectively. A political subdivision of the Commonwealth of Virginia, HRSD was created by public referendum in 1940 and currently serves 18 cities and counties in southeast Virginia, an area with a population of 1.7 million.
