Update: Temporary Lane Closures Scheduled for Portion of Shore Drive Near Naval Base for Sanitary Sewer Maintenance

VIRGINIA BEACH – Motorists are advised that HRSD is scheduled to perform maintenance within portions of its sanitary sewer force main along Shore Drive during overnight hours beginning 8:00 p.m. tonight, June 12 through 5:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 13 and continuing nightly through Friday, June 15. Additional hours of work may occur as needed between 9:00 a.m. and noon Wednesday, June 13 through Friday June 15. Traffic controls will be utilized during the overnight work hours and removed each morning.

Eastbound travel lanes will be reduced to one lane between Diamond Springs Road and Kimball Circle.

This work is weather dependent and subject to change or require additional time. Updates to this work or schedule can be found on the HRSD website.

This work is required as part of the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Wet Weather Consent Decree for Sanitary Sewer Overflows.
