Portsmouth Sanitary Sewer Pipeline Inspection and Maintenance
--Utility Work To Begin--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is undertaking a project to inspect and perform maintenance on the sanitary sewer piping along Swannanoa Drive. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. beginning as early as Monday, January 29th. This work can be weather and situation dependent and should not affect your water or sewer services.
Helpful Information:
- Beginning as early as January 29th, HRSD’s contractor will begin work at three locations along Swannanoa Drive: near Quince Road, near Summerset Drive, and near Weyanoke Drive.
- Access entrances to businesses or residents’ homes will remain open during this work.
- The work will require a single lane closure on Swannanoa Drive. Flaggers will be in place to direct traffic around the work as required.
- This work will be performed between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to minimize impacts during construction.
- This inspection and maintenance work is expected to be completed within 1-2 weeks. Permanent restoration may take up to 3-4 weeks depending on weather impacts. Work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to be extended.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
