Construction Update:

• Beginning as early as June 17th, a manhole replacement and the installation of bypass pipes and pumps will begin in the vicinity of your home/business.
• Be aware, street closures and detours will occur. During this work, Willard Avenue between E. Howard Street and E. Mercury Boulevard will be closed, and a detour will be in place between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. There will be 24-hour road closures at the intersection of E. Mellen Street and S. Willard Avenue.  (Please refer to Figure 1 for a map). Flaggers will direct traffic as required, and access to all residents and businesses will be maintained throughout construction.
• Bypass pipes and pumps will be installed from the north-west corner of E. Mercury Boulevard to a manhole near the intersection of S. Willard and E. Howard. The bypass is being put in place so that the manholes along Willard Avenue can be replaced. This work will require curb ramps to be installed in the driveways along the route.  The curb ramps allow vehicles to drive over the bypass pipes. The curb ramps will be in place throughout this portion of work. Figure 1A on the back of this notice shows two pictures of a curb ramp.   
• This work will take place primarily during daytime hours and should not affect your water or sewer.
• Restoration of the area impacted by construction will be restored at the completion of the manhole installation.
• This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in approximately 1-2 months. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.
