Great Bridge Boulevard Sanitary Sewer Improvements
--Manhole Frame Replacement Work on Great Bridge Boulevard--
HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is nearly finished with the sanitary sewer pipeline project. Remaining work includes the replacement of frames and covers on Manholes along Great Bridge Boulevard, followed by paving of the area when warmer weather is consistent. This manhole frame work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.
Construction Update:
- Beginning as early as February 26, 2026, manhole frame replacement will begin in the vicinity of your home/business along Great Bridge Boulevard between the pump station, located just west of the Bainbridge Boulevard intersection, down to Lincoln Road. See map below.
- Be aware, traffic patterns will shift. Periodic lane closures on Great Bridge Boulevard will be in effect with flagging operations for motorists.
- This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
- This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in 1-2 weeks. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change or be extended.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
