Lasalle Avenue Sewer Improvements

Body

-- Tidewater Drive Lane Reduction to Occur for Utility Work --

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will begin work to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Tidewater Drive. This work should take place between Monday – Saturday. Due to a recent scheduling restriction, the work on this section of the road must be completed by early September, and work must begin as soon as possible to meet this deadline.

Construction Update:

  • Beginning as early as July 24th, sanitary sewer pipeline installation will occur overnight (7PM-5AM) in the vicinity of your home/business at the intersection of Tidewater Drive and Lasalle Avenue. This portion of the work is expected to take 2 - 3 nights.
  • Beginning as early as July 29th, traffic control will be installed overnight (7PM-5AM) along Tidewater Drive including removal of existing pavement markings and restriping the temporary markings. This portion of the work is expected to take 3 nights.
  • Beginning as early as August 1st, sanitary sewer pipeline installation will occur during daytime hours along the Tidewater Drive right-of-way between Lasalle Avenue and Pershing Avenue. This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in 4 to 5 weeks. The work will be completed prior to the first day of school for Norfolk Public Schools.
  • Be aware, traffic will be reduced on Tidewater Drive to one lane in each direction from Saint Denis Avenue to Columbia Avenue. Access to homes/businesses will be available.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
  • Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change or be extended.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
