Wythe Creek Road Sewer Pipe Replacement (Hampton)

Body

--Trenching Work to Occur--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is working to install a new pipe along the Wythe Creek Road from Hampton to Poquoson. This new pipe will increase the sewer system’s reliability and help ensure HRSD’s ability to protect public health and the environment for decades to come. The potholing work is being done to verify the depths of the utilities. This work will take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Construction Update:

  • Beginning as early as January 2, digging of the trench will begin. This activity includes excavating a trench to install the new pipe and complete the tie-in.
  • This work will take place during daytime hours and will require a temporary closure of the South entrance to Captain Harrell’s Seafood and the Shady Oaks Mobile Home Park (please refer to the map below).
  • During this work, the North entrance will be open, and access for all residents and businesses will be maintained.
  • Please be advised that the work will involve the temporary closure of the South entrance between 7:00am and 5:00pm. The South entrance will be open outside of these working hours.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer.
  • This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in approximately 3-5 days. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, follow all traffic signs and signals.
