Park Avenue Sewer Pipeline Update

image

Our contractors have continued to install sanitary sewer pipeline and infrastructure on Park Avenue. After completion of the jack and bore last month, they removed the sheet piles and have begun to backfill the launch pits used for that work.

In the past two weeks, excavation has occurred to install new pipeline. The contractors have also worked to install new manholes for sewer pipeline access and build new storm drains in areas where they had become broken.

Park Avenue will continue to be restricted with no through driving allowed between Hull Street and Jackson Avenue to ensure safety around the construction area. Work on Park Avenue between Bainbridge Boulevard and Hull Street has been extended, and the road is currently restricted until late 2024 at the earliest. However, although barriers will be in place, residents will be able to access their homes and alleys via Stewart Street, Decatur Street, and Rodgers Street between Jefferson Street and Holly Avenue. The pipeline work on Park Avenue is expected to be completed by late 2024.

While the contractors continue working on Park Avenue, you may hear noises such as engines, backup alarms, diesel generators and motors. Vibration monitors will be located onsite and near the construction area to ensure limited disruption to you in your residence. Your water and sewer service will not be disrupted. Dust control measures such as paving, frequent road cleaning and/or application of water will be enacted to reduce dust from becoming airborne. After construction, roadways and rights-of-way will be restored to their pre-construction structure and materials.

Rodgers Avenue Sewer Pipeline Update

The start of sewer pipeline work on Rodgers Avenue (described in Construction Notice #39) has been rescheduled and is now estimated to begin mid-spring 2024.

Park Avenue Pump Station Update

Construction continues at the Park Avenue pump station site this month, starting with the coating of the structure’s lower walls for waterproofing and placing electrical conduits and plumbing in the top slab. The contractors will tie a rebar mat to reinforce concrete in the oncoming weeks to prepare for the top slab of the pump station in May.

Continuing construction work will occur directly on the pump station property itself, Monday – Friday between the hours of 7 AM – 6 PM. As a reminder, construction of this pump station is ongoing until summer 2025.

Ferebee Pump Station Update

The replacement structure for Ferebee Pump Station is in its final design stages and is expected to begin construction during late 2024.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
