Ferebee Pump Station Construction Start

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is currently in the midst of work to replace aging sanitary sewer pump stations, existing HRSD sanitary sewer pipelines, and public sewer service connections that are nearing the end of their useful life. As part of Phase 3 of this South Norfolk Pump Stations & Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project, our contractor is scheduled to begin work on the construction of a new Ferebee pump station at 2812 Bainbridge Boulevard as early as mid-to-late April, 2025. All construction work will occur directly on the pump station property itself, Monday – Friday between the hours of 7 AM – 6 PM.

The following conditions can be expected:

• During construction, you may notice staging of construction materials on the construction site and typical construction noises such as engines, backup alarms, material deliveries, diesel generators, and air compressors.
• Materials and equipment will be stored at the work zone depicted in the map to the right.
• During material deliveries or concrete pours, the southbound side of Bainbridge Boulevard may be reduced to one lane. Notice will be given to residents in advance of the planned lane closure via doorhanger notices.
• This work will not affect your water or sewer services.
• The work is expected to be completed by late 2027. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
