Old Buckroe Road Sanitary Sewer Replacement

Body

--Utility Work to Continue--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, will continue work to install a sanitary sewer pipeline along Colonial Acres Drive. This work is being conducted to reduce the risk of sanitary sewer overflows during heavy rain events such as Nor’easters or hurricanes. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Construction Update:

  • Beginning as early as May 31st, pipe installation work in the vicinity of your home/business will require City of Hampton Pump Station 33 located along Lafayette Drive between Alexander Drive and Colonial Acres Drive to be placed under pump and haul operation.
  • This work will take place during daytime hours and will require vactor trucks to maintain sewage flows at City of Hampton Pump Station 33.  The vactor trucks will discharge sewage into a City of Hampton manhole located along Fox Grove Drive as indicated on the map on the back of this notice.
  • Residents should avoid parking vehicles along Fox Grove Drive as indicated on the map on the back of this notice between 8:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
  • This work could result in some unpleasant odors in the vicinity of the City of Hampton manhole where sewage is being discharged.
  • This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in 1-2 days. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
