--Hanover Pump Station Work to Begin--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, has a project in your neighborhood to replace or rehabilitate pump stations and sewer pipelines in the Larchmont neighborhood. Work to replace the existing HRSD Hanover Avenue Pump Station that is nearing the end of its useful life with a new pump station located at 933 Hanover Avenue is about to begin. This replacement project will improve the system’s performance and ensure continued, reliable sewer service in the future. This work should take place primarily between the hours of 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.

Construction Update

  • Beginning as early as Monday, May 12, staging work such as temporary fencing, installation of erosion & sediment control measures, and temporary laydown of materials at the new pump station site at 933 Hanover Avenue will occur in the vicinity of your home/business on Hanover Avenue.
  • This work will take place during the daytime and within the right-of-way. Nighttime work is not anticipated, but if it needs to occur, the contractor will notify you in advance.
  • Work at the Hanover Pump Station site is expected to be completed within 2 years. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change or be extended.

The following conditions can be expected during construction:

  • Your water and sewer service will not be disrupted.
  • Through traffic will be detoured around active construction zones, but residents will still be able to access their homes. On-street parking will be closed in active pipeline construction zones, which is not expected to occur until later in the project.
  • Vibration monitors will be located onsite and near construction areas to monitor vibration levels during construction. Alerts are provided to the contractor if the vibrations reach a particular level, and work will be stopped if these vibrations exceed federally established levels that may cause damage to residential structures.
  • Construction update notices will be distributed to those in the affected areas throughout the project to provide updates of upcoming work. These notices will also be posted on the project webpage and NextDoor.
  • Noise can be expected from excavation, backup alarms, diesel generators, motors, sheet pile driving, and other work.
  • Dust control measures, such as temporary paving, frequent road cleaning, and/or application of water, will be enacted to reduce dust from becoming airborne.
  • Construction work sites will be fenced in to protect from entry, and warning signs will be placed around pipeline work.
  • Roadway and rights-of-way will be restored to their pre-construction structure and materials.

Project map

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
