South Norfolk Pump Stations & Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project
--Project Update--
Bainbridge Boulevard Sewer Pipeline Update
As early as September 3 between 7AM-5PM, our contractors will start a concrete pour at the new Ferebee Pump station site. On the pour day, one to three concrete pump trucks will be staged on Ferebee Avenue across from the pump station site, depicted in the green area of the attached map to the right. Additional trucks may be staged on Edgewood Avenue if needed, in the blue area on the map. The purpose of the initial pour is to create a mat to provide anchoring for concrete slabs later in the month.
Contractor staff or “flaggers”, stationed in the orange areas on the map, will be present to guide traffic coming in and out of Ferebee and Edgewood Avenues and around trucks stationed on Bainbridge Avenue as the pour happens. Our contractors may request a southbound lane shutdown from the city to stage the trucks in front of the station site.
Another concrete pour will take place as early as September 8 to pour the foundation slab with the same staging areas and flagger zones seen in the map above.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
