South Norfolk Pump Stations & Sanitary Sewer Replacement Project
--Bainbridge Boulevard Construction Update--
Bainbridge Boulevard Sewer Pipeline Work

Sewer pipe installation is underway on Bainbridge Boulevard between Wright Avenue and Chesapeake Drive, moving south toward Swain Avenue.
During pipeline construction, Bainbridge Boulevard will be closed in the northbound lane around the construction areas between Wright Avenue and Chesapeake Drive. Residents on Hughes Avenue, Post Avenue, and Chesapeake Drive can access their homes and businesses via local traffic routes depicted in blue on the map to the right, with entry points from Bainbridge Boulevard onto Wright Avenue or Chesapeake Drive.
The overall project pipeline construction is expected to be completed by summer 2027.
While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased traffic and noise such as drilling, engines, backup alarms, diesel generators and motors, along with the people and heavy equipment associated with construction. Please proceed with caution when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the work zone.
-
Vibration monitors are in place to ensure that vibration levels are kept below the allowed threshold.
-
Your water and sewer service will not be disrupted.
-
Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change
