PROJECT UPDATES – SEPTEMBER 2022

Delay of 24-Hour Work and Perry Street Temporary Detour

On September 13th (Construction Noticeimage #9), we informed you that a planned period of 24-hour work was expected to occur between September 14th and September 17th.

In preparation for this 24-hour work, a sewer manhole was damaged on Park Avenue. The contractor is repairing the manhole on Park Avenue and is temporarily using a bypass sanitary sewer pump to connect the sanitary sewer pipeline from Park Avenue to Perry Street.

During this time, the intersection of Perry Street and Park Avenue is closed and residents on the northern side of Perry Street will need to detour to Perry Street via Jefferson Street. Residents on the southern side of Perry Street will be able to access the street from Park Avenue. We estimate that the sewer manhole repairs will be completed on Friday, September 16th.  At that time, the intersection of Perry Street and Park Avenue will reopen.

Due to these issues, the planned period of 24-hour work on Park Ave will be postponed to next week.

We apologize for this delay and thank you for your patience with the repair issue.  An update regarding the start of the 24-hour drilling will be provided at least 24-hours before it begins.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise and traffic, along with the people and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent, and dates are subject to change.
