Park Avenue Sewer Pipeline Update

This month, crews conducted surveys and constructability reviews of the Park Avenue job site. Following this, our contractor resumed excavation and placing new pipe. Well point systems continue to dewater the work area. Upon resuming, construction work is expected to occur Monday – Friday between the hours of 7 AM – 5 PM.

Park Avenue will be restricted with no through driving allowed between Hull Street and Jackson Avenue during this phase of the pipeline replacement project to ensure safety around the construction area. Work on Park Avenue between Bainbridge Boulevard and Hull Street has been extended, and the road is currently restricted until late October at the earliest.  

However, although barriers will be in place, residents will be able to access their homes and alleys via Stewart Street, Decatur Street, and Rodgers Street between Jefferson Street and Holly Avenue. Work is expected to be completed by late 2023.

While the contractors are working, you may hear noises such as drilling, engines, backup alarms, diesel generators and motors. Vibration monitors will be located onsite and near the construction area to ensure limited disruption to you in your residence. Your water and sewer service will not be disrupted. Dust control measures such as paving, frequent road cleaning and/or application of water will be enacted to reduce dust from becoming airborne. After construction, roadways and rights-of-way will be restored to their pre-construction structure and materials.
