Larchmont Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements

Body

--Demolition Work to Begin--

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, in partnership with the City of Norfolk’s Department of Utilities will begin demolition work at 1101 Magnolia Avenue. This is part of the Larchmont Area Sanitary Sewer Improvements project, a strategic program to improve the sanitary sewer in the Larchmont-Edgewater community. The demolition work and clearing will make way for a new pump station. The construction phase for the entire project is scheduled for early 2024 – Summer 2027.

Construction Update:

  • Beginning as early as July 17th, the demolition of the property located at 1101 Magnolia Avenue will occur.
  • This work will take place during daytime hours between 7 AM and 5 PM.
  • This work should not affect your water or sewer services.
  • This portion of the work is anticipated to be completed in 1-2 weeks. Due to the nature of construction, work is weather and situation dependent and dates are subject to change.

While our project team works diligently to minimize impacts, you may notice increased noise, traffic, crews, and heavy equipment (with back-up safety alarms) associated with construction. Please take care when traveling around the construction area and for your safety, do not enter the site.
