Surry Hydraulic Improvements and Main Installation

Body

HRSD, your regional wastewater treatment utility, is planning sanitary sewer system improvements to your community. The project includes a new pipe and pump station that will bring sewage flows generated in the Town of Surry and vicinity to the existing Surry County Wastewater Treatment Plant. The project will replace the existing Town Wastewater Treatment Plant with a new pump station, which will pump the sewage flows to the Surry County Wastewater Treatment Plant. The new pipe will generally be constructed along Rolfe Highway north and south of the Town of Surry. The answers to some Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) are provided here

Project Overview
The project is located at the current Town of Surry Wastewater Treatment Plant site at the end of Connie Drive and along Rolfe Highway in two sections. The first section is from Marina Drive to the northern edge of town. The second section is along Connie Drive and Rolfe Highway to the intersection with Colonial Trail West. The project includes pipelines, a new pump station, and storage tank. The pipeline will be located along the road in existing right-of-ways and easements. The new pump station and storage tank will be located at the existing Town of Surry Wastewater Treatment Plant. The Contractor will maintain a clean worksite and minimize traffic disruption.
