CHESAPEAKE – Motorists are advised that HRSD crews will be performing sanitary sewer pipeline repairs that require a road closure on Shell Road from the intersection of Hopewell Drive to Bay Oak Drive. This work will impact travel as follows:

• The intersection of Hopewell Drive and Shell Road will be closed. Local traffic within Baywood Manor will follow Meiggs Road to Baywood Trail to access Shell Road and travel eastbound toward Military Highway (Route 13) as indicated on the map below. Additional signage will be posted.
• Through traffic will follow a signed detour using George Washington Highway N. (Route 17) and S. Military Highway (Route 13).

The detour began on January 16 and is expected to remain in place for two to three months.
